In 2016 I moved to Seattle Washington which has quickly become my home. I have a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology. For my undergraduate degree, I have a Bachelor’s in Religion & The Arts with a minor in English Literature from Belmont University I am always continuing to learn and do that primarily through continuing education with the Northwest Alliance for Psychoanalytic Study and the Center of Object Relations, where I hold membership. I am fully licensed in the state of Washington, LH61104550. In late 2022 I completed requirements to become a Washington state approved supervisor. I work with counseling interns and associates working towards licensure on a weekly rhythm, specializing in relational psychodynamic work. In my free time, I will more often than not be with my dog, Quinn, but also gardening, cooking, hiking, and spending time with friends and family. I strive to be actively aware of my power and privilege as a white, straight, cis-gendered woman and am committed to ongoing anti racist work within my self and my community. I use depth psychology from a relational psychodynamic frame in my work, which means I use the relationship between us as our guiding force as we explore and make sense of your experience. My approach is also informed by British Object Relations, attachment theory, and neuropsychobiology. This means that I believe in the integration of cognition, feeling, and our unconscious and our early relationships drastically influence our current relational patterns. Often these relational patterns, whether we are conscious of them or not, are there to protect us, but can cause trouble or a stuck point for us in our lives. I believe deeply that change is possible and occurs through relationship. Together, we will consider your pain, need, beliefs, and about the creative yet costly ways you have defended yourself against hurt. The understanding that emerges over time in this slow process is a way of loosening knots and freeing movement towards growth. I view therapy as a collaborative process. Together we will pay close attention to how your past links to the present, what you hesitate to say, and what you say that surprises you.
